Over winter break I started a quilt with a woolen blanket as a core. For a change, I made it out of fabric I like instead of whatever scraps came to hand. Greens. I made the top, then went back to work, quilting down the squares as time permitted and I remembered the project. When it got really cold, I put safety pins in all the yet-to-be-quilted spots and used it on the bed. Today, I completed it. No more safety pin surprises as I sleep!
I have a vision that is probably best embodied, thus far, in the Baba Yaga project I did last winter, ending in the April show at Allied Arts. I have a business plan
well, to be honest, I don't.
I ran across this e-book yesterday and it's what I need right now. There is so much potential in my artistic life, it feels completely chaotic. Reading Simonet's book makes me think there's hope, a way to honor the chaos and work with it effectively.
