I took the drum down to the dock and found a person willing to take it to Demeter's on San Juan Island, where I display some art on their walls. Two weeks later the drum came back into my hands. "I forgot," said my delivery person.
Well then.
A week later, I was boating to work on Orcas Island and gave the drum to one of my fellow passengers who was going on to San Juan Island. "Sure, I'll deliver it," they said. "Now, where did you say Daleter's was?"
I had a bad feeling about that but explained and went on my merry way. When I arrived at work half an hour later, there was an email in my inbox. "I saw the raven drum at Demeter's and want to buy it."
Well then.
The next weekend I realized that my house is oodling with fall bouquets, plus I needed to make a replacement drum. So often, drums have a very masculine energy to them. I decided to try for a feminine drum which you can see below. It is symmetrical, I just was careless when I photographed it. Plus, it has a great sound. You can see it at Demeter's.
